Knife is sharpened to a razor edge. This service is done on a 2" x 72" Burr King and finished on a Baldor buffer using a leather wheel. Blades are kept cool so overheating is not an issue. The C253GP Spyderco YoJumbo Knife is the tough big brother of the popular Yojimbo 2, designed by Michael Janich, that features a 4.00 inch modified Wharncliffe blade made of CPM S30V stainless steel, .145 inches thick, with a hollow grind and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The black G10 handle, 5.37 inches closed, has ergonomic finger groove contouring and coarse texture for secure grip, nested skeletonized stainless steel liners and open back construction to lessen weight, the sturdy Compression Lock and a 4 position steel pocket clip. The Spyderco YoJumbo Knife has an overall open length of 9.26 inches and it weighs 5.1 ounces. Made in the USA in Golden, Colorado.

Excellent purchase and transaction from KnivesPlus. Customized and shipped to my house in 3 days. The acid wash they put on the blade and clip was uniform and well done. I am an edge snob, have a KME system with diamond stones but I thought I would save myself some time and try the 5$ sharpening from KP....damn this thing is sharp. They put a screaming edge on this thing and didn't blunt or round the tip of at all. After I sanded off the scale's middle swells with a dremel and put a ziptie in the spydie hole, this knife is damn near perfect.

I ordered a Yojumbo and had the hardware bronzed ($15) and had it shaving sharp ($5).
The custom work was done within 2 days of ordering and I received the knife one week from order day. Came in excellent condition, very pleased, would order again.
I will say the bevel has a small imperfection/burr but its very sharp so its purely aesthetic and 99 percent of people wouldn't see it. Great small company, very happy with the price charged for custom work. Will order again (:

I have the regular Yojimbo 2 however when you hold this piece is feels like a fix blade and it carries extremely well for a 9 inch.
I had the heat and shave treatment done and all I can say is be very careful. They are not kidding about the shave comment.
Since my spouse ordered this for me, I had some questions and they are truly customer oriented company.

The communication with KP was very good. I appreciate great customer service for sure. The knife itself is uncomfortable for my large had. The finger placement grooves force you into a position that just feels off. I willl most likely sell the knife or grind those finger placement cutouts flat. But in the end KP was great to deal with. Will do business with them again.
