The Old Hickory line has been around for longer than 100 years; longer than most of our Grandfathers. It's hard to find the old timey style carbon steel kitchen knives like they had years ago. Well, Ontario Knife Company still makes these knives from high carbon steel here in the good old USA. Brass riveted hardwood handles, and fully heat treated 1095 tool steel blades.
Caution, high carbon steel will rust if not properly cared for. Clean and oil after use, and keep out of the dishwasher.
Each Old Hickory knife is made with 1095 carbon steel, fully heat treated and tempered to provide a razor sharp cutting edge which is easily sharpened when needed. The knives are fitted with an attractive hardwood handle branded Old Hickory and secured with brass compression rivets. The Old Hickory knife brand has been around for since 1889.
Please note: Old Hickory knives are inexpensive, they can be sharpened razor sharp but do not normally come very sharp from the factory, do not expect $100.00 knife quality in fit, finish, and edge from a $10.00 knife. Also carbon steel will rust. We guarantee that they will rust or tarnish - if rust is problematic for you, then please do not order carbon steel knives.
