The C81MPCW2 Spyderco Para Military 2 Knife is a welcome addition to the popular Spyderco Military Knife lineup that features a 3.47 inch clip point blade made of premium CPM Cru-Wear tool steel, .145 inch thick. The blade has a full flat grind, a notched thumb ramp and choil for secure grip, and the Spyderco Hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. Perfect edge grind 12/17/2022

Knives Plus had one heck of a deal on this and it had been a knife I wanted. Out of the box perhaps the most perfect blade grind seen of any knife.
Sharp out of the box, flawless.
But there are other little things. #1, the handles are pure white. Not a hint of brown anywhere. #2, the blade is very slightly off center
#3, some lock stick
and lastly, Spyderco really applied some threadlocker that results in the stop pin and a standoff being welded together. This pretty much complicates my attempts to center the blade. No doubt I could eventually get it free but might bugger up a screw to do so. This also complicates ideas of applying dye to the scales. I tuned it to a point it is better but the action still isn't right. I'm still happy with this knife and more than happy with Knives Plus getting it to me quickly. At the sale price it was a good deal but I sure wouldn't say it is worth the regular $188 price Spyderco wants for it.

My favorite EDC knife! 12/10/2022

I have owned a lot of knives over the course of 40 plus years. This is my second PM2, and my favorite EDC knife. It's got a super smooth action right out of the box. The fit and finish is great. The blade is ground evenly, and is centered in the knife. The micarta scales are beautiful.
Those that are worried about the scales being weak (where there is no liner behind them by the lock)... Unless you are using this knife in ways not intended, this will likely never break. I didn't feel as much flex in this area as I was expecting based on some reviews. Custom scales would be easy to make at home since the liners are not nested. I don't notice any weight difference between this and my other PM2. The only maintenance I did was reapply blue loctite to the pivot screws, as they kept working loose, and lubed the pivot with some Knife Pivot Lube. For a sub $200 knife, this is a great choice!

Had been wanting one of these. Knives Plus ran one heck of a quick sale on this knife and I grabbed it. Knives Plus is awesome, they got it here quick and packed well. Great place to do business with!
BLADE GRIND-Probably the best blade grind I've seen on a knife in years. Very sharp out of the box and simply perfect from that aspect.
ALIGNMENT-slightly off center, minimal/not bad.
ACTION-Quite stiff out of the box with lock stick. Made some slight adjustments and found that two screws are seemingly red loctited on opposing sides. Got the majority of lock stick out.
SCALES-They are not dark as shown in photos. It will come "in the white" and either over time or by adding oil to the scales that they turn darker. Could dye them too I guess.
BOTTOM LINE- This is a very good knife with some minor quirks seen on my sample. At the special price I paid, this is a home run.

The Para Military 2 I have is the CruWear and Micarta version. The action broke in quickly and it is as smooth as butter. The blade is centered perfectly and there no play opened or closed. The compression lock is tight and there is no lock stick. The only thing I needed to do was put some mineral oil on the scales as they were pretty dry. That made them a shade darker and they look great. I am 100 percent satisfied with my new CruCarta PM2

Obtain the wonderful micarta version of the cruwear
Pm2! It’s a great knife, came quickly , and sharp !!
Looks are subjective, but the ergonomics are great
Plus with the compression lock, one handed use is easy. Cruwear is not stainless, but keeps a great edge.
