Knife is sharpened to a razor edge. This service is done on a 2" x 72" Burr King and finished on a Baldor buffer using a leather wheel. Blades are kept cool so overheating is not an issue. Bronze Heat Colored Hardware Add-On - The knife is disassembled and a small amount of heat is applied to the hardware to change it to a bronze color. This includes any screws, spacers, lanyard tubes, or clips that are satin. Acid stonewashed clips will not be heat colored.

This Spyderco Shaman Knife - a great EDC designed along the theme of the ever popular Spyderco Native, features a 3.61" leaf shaped blade made of CPM S30V stainless steel, .145" thick, with a two tone satin finish, high saber grind and top swedge, a notched choil and thumb rest for secure grip, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The ergonomic matte black G10 handle, 4.70" closed, has chamfered edges for comfort, nested stainless steel liners, Compression Lock, lanyard hole, and a multi position steel pocket clip. The Spyderco Shaman Knife has an overall open length of 8.31", and it weighs 5.2 ounces. Made in the USA.

I have had and very much enjoyed a Spyde C48 Tim Wegner for better than 15yrs but a friend couldn't live a day longer without it.

So after looking for several month for something similar I found this Spyderco C229GP Shaman knife and bought it based on positive reviews. Right out of the box it appears this was the right choice. It rides on my pocket edge just like the Wegner did and it draws and opens just as quickly and easily.

The blade lock operation is different but quite easy and quick to perform. The blade opens and closes easily single-handed with very little effort. This knife arrived shaving sharp and has stayed that way after 2 weeks of regular everyday use (and some abuse), without touching it up with my stones or even my strops. I expect this knife will continue to serve my everyday knife needs very well for many years, as did my Wegner.

This is a Spyderco Native on steroids and then some. Fit and finish is typical Spyderco quality. The ergos on this knife are off the charts. I think you could beat on this knife and it's waiting for more. So buy one you won't be disappointed. As always KP customer service is second to none.
