Ontario Knives: Ontario Spec Plus SP1 Combat Knife, QN-8679


The 8679 Ontario SP1 Combat Knife, part of the Ontario Spec Plus Series, features a 7 inch clip point fixed blade made of 1095 carbon steel, .188 inch thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 57-59, a non reflective black powder coated finish, full flat tapered grind with swedged tip, and a fuller. The grooved black Kraton® handle has an integral cross guard and bird's beak pommel for secure grip, full length tang construction for strength, and a lined lanyard hole. A black MOLLE compatible nylon sheath is included. The Ontario SP1 Combat Knife has an overall length of 12.1 inches. Proudly made in the USA.

Bought this knife for my wife for her night stand weapon. I paid extra for the sharpening as the factory edge seems to be the only real complaint with Ontario knives. DL from Knives Plus did an excellent job. Razor sharp. I prefer the handle to the Kabar as it feels more contoured like a Pachmayr or Hogue rubber grip on a pistol. Very serious fighter that won't be chopping any wood. Get one while you can. I was going to get a Kabar leather sheath for it but it came with a nice useful one. Very pleased overall.
