The Old Hickory Mini Filet Knife has a 3.4 inch straight point fillet fixed blade made of 1075 carbon steel with a Rockwell hardness of 57-59; full tang construction for strength, a brass riveted hardwood handle and an overall length of 6.9 inches. A genuine leather sheath is included. Made in the USA.

My hunting practice is to filet the pheasant breast meat and water-ice pack before the drive home. I’ve been looking for an inexpensive, fixed blade, wood handle, easy to field sharpen, handy to use(short), pheasant breast filet knife.This was described as just what I was looking for.
I’ve now have used it on two hunt trips (four birds) and have been very pleased with it on all points. Just the right length, maneuverable, good grip and still very sharp, holding that edge after four birds.
I ordered it engraved (very inexpensive too) with “papas bird knife” so to pass it on to my grandson, who now hunts with me.
For small meat cutting jobs, I recommend this knife.
