Kershaw Knives: Kershaw Natrix Copper Knife, KE-7006CU

This Kershaw Natrix Knife is a new twist on a favorite EDC that features a 2.75" drop point blade made of D2 steel with stonewash finish, a weight reducing fuller, a notched thumb rest for secure purchase and a flipper for ambidextrous one hand opening. The machined copper handle, 3.6" closed, has an oversized pivot with KVT ball bearing system for smooth opening, chamfered contours for comfortable grip, a decorative backspacer for visual interest, sturdy Sub-Frame Lock, and a side to side reversible deep carry pocket clip recess mounted at the butt end. The Kershaw Natrix Copper Knife has an overall open length of 6.4", and it weighs 3.7 ounces.

From the Kershaw website: Like other Natrixes, this one features a drop-point blade that offers solid performance. But it also offers upgraded D2 blade steel. This high-carbon tool steel is highly wear resistant, tough, and offers excellent edge retention. The stonewashed finish on the blade goes perfectly with its intriguing copper handles. Yes, copper. Since copper is denser than stainless steel, this smaller knife has some heft. And a lot of style, too. You'll especially like the look once the handles have earned some patina.

Natrix copper 12/04/2018
By El Greggo DeAlmighty
I like copper and the Natrix is a really good looking knife. Combine the two and you get an awesome looking knife. Fit and finish are nearly perfect. Very well done for a production knife. The D2 blade was a nice trade off since the copper Natrix is smaller than the standard. In the two weeks I have owned this knife the blade has held its edge very well. Much better than the standard Natrix with 8Cr13MoV that I have. Blade centering is spot on and the lock engages without overtravel. The copper scales are beautiful. They are even skeletonized to help reduce some of the weight. The KTV ball bearings work smoothly allowing the knife to open with ease using the flipper. No wrist flip needed to fully engage the lock. To finish it all off it has a nice deep carry pocket clip that is reverseable for tip up carry. I am very pleased with this knife. I believe that it is well worth its price and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another.

Kershaw 7006CU 12/11/2018

The good: blade centering is fine. 40-50% lockbar engagement. Nearly shaving sharp. Deep carry clip is nice, sturdy. The not as good: Scale finish texture just looks dirty, worse as patina develops. Factory grind was asymmetric, total angle was normal, just that the sides were 10° different (I remove blades to sharpen with Apex). I don't see this problem with Kershaw USA made blades. Scale inside mill outs fill with dust. Just an expected material property but..copper nicks and dents if anything else is in your pocket, keys, coins, pens whatever.

Great Knife 12/01/2018
By Charlie
This knife is great! It opens easy with minimal effort. I wish it was assisted. I own a few of the original Natrix's this one is a little smaller and easily concealed. I would recommend this knife to anyone who actually carries a knife daily.

Nicely made heavy copper knife. I would pay a few bucks more if it were American made!
