The 2045 Kershaw Decibel Knife is a sci-fi inspired gent's EDC (suitable for Captain Picard) that features a 3 inch reverse tanto blade made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a non reflective dark gray titanium carbo-nitride finish, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The skeletonized stainless steel handle, 3.75 inches closed, has the same dark gray finish as the blade, contrasting bright blue anodized pivot ring and backspacer for visual interest, sturdy frame lock and a side to side reversible steel pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Decibel Knife has an overall open length of 6.6 inches, and it weighs 2.7 ounces.

The Decibel's slim, linear design is emphasized by dark matte-gray, titanium-carbo-nitride coating on both blade and handle. The Decibel's blade is quality 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. And even though the handle is stainless steel, too, the discreet Decibel weighs in at just 2.7 ounces. One thing that lightens the knife's weight - and adds style - is the handle cutout. This "window" in the handle lets you look inside and reveals the Kershaw logo, cleverly tucked away on the inside of the back handle. The reversible pocketclip has its own decorative cutouts, echoing the lines of the knife. The Decibel is a fully manual knife, but can be opened one-handed using the thumb stud.
