Knife is sharpened to a razor edge. This service is done on a 2" x 72" Burr King and finished on a Baldor buffer using a leather wheel. Blades are kept cool so overheating is not an issue. A lightweight Benchmade Bugout? Incredibly - YES! The 535BK-2 Bugout features a 3.24 inch drop point blade made of CPM S30V stainless steel, .090 inch thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60, a non reflective black finish with a top swedge and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The ergonomic black CF-Elite (carbon fiber reinforced nylon polymer) handle, 4.22 inches closed, has checkered areas for secure grip, the ambidextrous AXIS Lock, a large lanyard hole and a side to side reversible mini deep carry pocket clip mounted at the butt end. This Benchmade Bugout Knife has an overall open length of 7.46 inches, and it weighs only 1.80 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.

I've purchased both the mini and the standard sized Bugouts. Both were not sharp as received, but after spending a few minutes, I had both shaving hair. The Mini Bugout opens and closes smoother but I believe the 535BK-2 that I purchased will open better as I use it more. I like the light weight for an all day carry knife and both feel acceptable in my hand when using. I'm a little more partial to my Spiderco Delica....as far as feel and function, but the bugouts are lighter. I don't regret the purchase but think at this price they should be sharper and smoother.
