Benchmade Knives: Benchmade Bugout Knife, BM-535

The Benchmade Bugout is a slim, lightweight everyday carry knife that is equally suitable for a pair of dress pants or a backpack. This Bugout features a 3.24" drop point blade made of CPM S30V stainless steel, .090" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60. The blade has a satin finish with a top swedge and dual blue thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The ergonomic bright blue Grivory handle, 4.22" closed, has checkered areas for secure grip, the ambidextrous AXIS Lock, a large lanyard hole and a side to side reversible discrete carry pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Benchmade Bugout Knife has an overall open length of 7.46", and it weighs only 1.85 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.

Bugout with Flytanium Scales 12/27/2019

Ordered the Benchmade Bugout and Flytanium scales with titanium hardware, had KnivesPlus assemble everything for me. They shipped the completed knife to me while I was deployed to the Middle East and as soon as I opened the box, a crowd grew around me. Everyone, excluding myself, was instantly impressed and if you didn't know, the military and especially the Marine Corps has a lot of knife nuts in it. The build they did in the knife was amazing! Blade is perfectly centered, hair popping sharp, and the smoothest motion when deploying and closing the blade. Smoothest action on an of the many knives I own. Additionally, the customer service with KnivesPlus was outstanding!

This is the EDC I’ve been hoping someone would build. Ideal blade length. Excellent super lightweight construction. Most are critical or the Grivory scales but I think they are appropriate for this knifes intended use. Like the blue color. When I pull it out of my pocket it looks less tactical and I don’t get any raised eyebrows. Deep pocket clip is a great design. Knife disappears in my pocket. It was a little tight to clip but a little polishing and slightly bending the clip away from the body of the knife allows for easier use. Great job Benchmade!

I was really impressed by how fast the knife shipped with the custom titanium scales. I figured I would give knivesplus a try and they delivered. The blue bugout is ok but with the scale upgrade holy cow this knife is sweet. It’s exactly what it needed to make it a much more expensive looking knife. Love the blue accents with the titanium. They did a superb job installing the scales, no scratches, blade is centered and action is perfect. Great job guys, oh and it’s razor sharp as you would expect from Benchmade. Highly recommend.

I have only had this knife for a couple of weeks but I am very happy. It cost more than I usually spend on a knife but it is worth it.
It arrived sharper than any knife I have ever purchased and after two weeks it still has a razor shape edge.
Really think I am going to enjoy it.

I love this knife and in addition knives plus sharpening service was awesome! Every bit worth $5 I mean they got this thing razor sharp I think it cuts like a lightsaber. KP is my new go to online store for knife purchases period !
