DMT Knife Sharpener: DMT D4 DiaSharp Sharpener, Coarse, DMT-D4C

The illustrated DMT Knife Sharpener is the Coarse DMT D4 Dia-Sharp Knife Sharpener, a pocket stone sized diamond knife sharpener that features a 4" long by 7/8" wide 325 mesh coarse grit Monocrystalline diamond sharpening surface. Use the Coarse 325 mesh, 45 micron diamond sharpener to quickly sharpen a neglected edge.

DMT Dia-Sharp Knife Sharpeners are continuous diamond surface sharpening stones. DMT uses Monocrystalline diamonds that are securely bonded in nickel, and then electroplated onto a solid stainless steel plate. The uninterrupted diamond sharpening surface makes a Dia-Sharp knife sharpener an ideal tool for putting a razor edge on knives, as well as pointed tools, and tools with a small contact area.

Great for reprofiling 04/26/2019

Great for reprofiling. I have the KNE sharpening system. KME’s diamond stones, although admittedly a cut above this DMT stone, cost more than twice as much. Once a diamond stone breaks in, its cutting rate decreases quite a bit. So I buy these cheaper DMT diamond stones in both coarse and extra coarse and use them for reprofiling only until they break in to the point where they no longer hog metal. Then I throw them away and pull out a new one.

I have all 4 of the DMT stones to use with my KME. I'm a beginner but after watching youtube vids about the KME and the Wicked Edge sharpener, I'm having good results. Just use little pressure and be patient. I also finish with the Arkansas Translucent or lapping film, then strop.
