Spyderco Knives: Spyderco Chaparral Knife, SP-C152CFP

The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Chaparral Knife that features a 2 13/16" leaf shaped blade made of CTS-XHP stainless steel. The blade of this Spyderco Knife has a notched choil and thumb ramp for secure grip, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured black carbon fiber handle, 3 5/8" closed, has steel liners and a lockback. A side to side reversible wire clip is mounted at the butt end of this Spyderco Knife. The Spyderco Chaparral Knife has an overall length of 6 3/8" when open, and it weighs 2.5 ounces. Made in Taiwan.

From the Spyderco website: Chaparral is a shrub native to the Western United States with the unique ability to perennially survive, revive and regenerate after being destroyed by drought or fire. Like a season it returns year after year. It's also what Spyderco calls a new and continuing series of gentlemen's folders.

Mid-sized Chaparral folders will have identical blade and handle profiles but showcase variant handle materials. Handle options will be chosen for their elegant appearance and functional utility with a focus directed at making the Chaparral series unique as well as a serious contender in the gent's knife genre. Possibly Spyderco's thinnest, lightest mid-sized CLIPIT yet, the debut Chaparral will have a carbon-fiber handle with a mid-positioned back lock and screw-together construction.

Best casual edc out there? 01/03/2024
By Brian Zabel
I’m partial to spyderco as the ergonomics and wire clip speak to me. The chaparral might be their most well rounded option for lighter duty casual/office carry (if your office/community allows for locking knives etc). While the chaparral comes in many scale options, most are currently out of stock and/or discontinued. At current sale prices the cf version is a no-brainer for classy yet durable use. Like most of spyderco’s Taiwan options, fit and finish is flawless with my example. I’ve found xhp to be a fine stainless option for general use (both in this option as well as the chaparral frn that I have carried for much of the last couple years).

KnivesPlus…this was my first purchase from them and I likely won’t go anywhere else moving forward! They called to confirm my order (I have a problematic zip code). The knife went in the mail the next day, was delivered practically overnight, all a few days prior to Dec 25th! Fantastic!

Chapparal in CF 12/07/2017

This small knife is a great “dressy” EDC option. It is crazy sharp and weighs next to nothing. I probably will carry it in a small leather pocket slip rather than clipped. That leaves room for something a bit larger for those times you think you might it.

I have carried this beauty for several weeks now. I really like everything about this little knife.
• Great steel
•Thin blade
•Good feel in hand
•Disappears in pocket
Liked the overall package of the Chaparral so much I purchased another.
