This spring is much lighter than the stock spring, which is much too stiff IMO. This improves the feel and usability of the locking mechanism a lot. Now the lock is easy to operate using just the thumb or index finger, but doesn’t require using both fingers. The spring tension is still strong enough for a secure lock-up every time. I’m really glad I tried this kit.

I was reluctant to replace the spring on my Manix LW. Received the kit from Knives Plus. Much to my delight the change was relatively easy. Everything fit perfectly. Done and desired results in 1 hour.

Recently purchased an upgraded hardware kit for the Spyderco Manix 2 (ceramic ball and spring, and stainless crew set). Quality materials, and really made the ergos and action of the knife so much better.

The ceramic ball makes the detent super slick, but the spring is too light I think. Something between this current spring and stock would be perfect. This spring does allow for blade drop under force.
