This C58BMS Spyderco JD Smith Knife is a discontinued item with serial number; BNIB, made in 1999.

The C58BMS Spyderco JD Smith Knife features a 3 11/16 inch serrated modified clip point blade made of ATS-34 stainless steel with Spyderco Hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The black micarta handle, 5 inches closed, has a full metal backspacer for strength, sturdy back lock, a lined lanyard hole, and a removable metal pocket clip mounted at the pivot end. The Spyderco JD Smith Knife has an overall open length of 8 5/8 inches, and it weighs 3 ounces. Made in Japan in 1999.

From the Spyderco Archives: J.D. Smith is a longstanding member of the Knifemakers' Guild and an ABS Mastersmith. In the 90s he designed and made a tactical-style folder for his own personal use, crafted using advanced materials yet also managing to delight the eye. His design eventually developed into the Spyderco C58 J.D. Smith CLIPIT®.
