UPDATED CQI VERSION - CPM MagnaCut blade steel!
This Spyderco Native 5 Salt Knife features a 2.95" leaf shaped blade made of rust proof CPM MagnaCut steel, .125" thick, with a notched choil and thumb rest for secure grip, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The high viz yellow FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle, 4.00" closed, has Bi-Directional Texturing for secure purchase, ergonomic contours for comfort, a sturdy lockback, a lanyard hole and a four position metal pocket clip. The Spyderco Native 5 Salt Knife has an overall open length of 6.95" and it weighs 2.5 ounces. Made in the USA.

I’ve only used this knife a few times but it’s already become one of my top 5 EDC’s. I love the blade. Very sharp and versatile. Fits my hand well (I wear large gloves). It’s the perfect size for carrying in my pocket. This knife has a back lock which is Spyderco’s strongest lock. Magnacut was the only blade steel I didn’t have until now (I have 20 Spyderco knives including this Native 5). It’s not a very “fidgety” knife, but then, I don’t fidget with my knives like some people do. Blade is centered and tight - no play. I’ve been using it while working in my garden, taking advantage of its toughness and stainless quality. And lastly, I love the bright yellow color!

The Native 5 is an all around great knife. It’s on the smaller size for carrying but feels like a bigger knife in hand. The addition of the magnacut blade makes it stand out due to the incredible balance of toughness, edge retention and corrosion resistance magnacut provides. The back lock, being centered in the handle, makes it easy to operate, even with only one hand (once you start getting it broken in). If you need something easy to carry but has performance that belies its smaller size, the Native 5 is an excellent choice.

Great experience with knives plus and another awesome blade from Spyderco. Even if the magnacut blade on the native 5 salt still had a slight burr from the factory sharpening. It cleaned up quick on the stone and has been a pleasure to cut with.

Not a fan of the salt yellow, but the blade is amazing. And this was only place I could find out in PE. Excellent fit and finish like you expect from a Spyderco product.

Note: this is for the magnacut blade. I don't have the LC200N.

I was hoping Spyderco would start using Magnacut since they do heat treating so well. The yellow colored FRN was a minus, but easily fixed with Rit dye. The extra sharpening by Knives Plus is excellent and highly recommended.
