This MODIFIED Delica 4 Lightweight is a limited exclusive that features an ACID STONEWASHED 2.9" blade made of premium CPM S30V stainless steel, .098" thick, with a flat grind, a notched thumb ramp for secure grip, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The hand dyed FOREST Zome FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle, 4.25" closed, has Bi-Directional Texturing for secure purchase, a lockback, a lanyard hole and a four position steel pocket clip. The MODIFIED Spyderco Delica 4 Knife with AN ACID STONEWASHED S30V blade and FOREST RIT DYED Zome handle has an overall open length of 7.15" and it weighs 2.4 ounces. This ancient art form includes many different methods of creating patterns on cloth using dyes derived from plants, flowers, fruit, and other natural sources and is closely related to many aspects of Japanese history and culture.
Inspired by this rich artistic heritage, Spyderco's Zome knives are unique variations of our lightweight models, which feature injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles. The handles are molded in a light base color and then individually hand dyed by expert Japanese artisans. Using a technique reminiscent of traditional hiki-zome (brush dyeing), various colors of dye are hand brushed onto the handle to create distinctive, one-of-a-kind patterns. Like Japan's classical dyeing methods, the special dyes used completely permeate the FRN to permanently color it.
