EZE-LAP Knife Sharpener: EZE-LAP Diamond Knife Sharpener, Model M, EZ-M

The illustrated EZE-LAP Knife Sharpener is the Model M EZE-LAP round diamond knife sharpener with Fine 600 grit that features a 3 3/4" long by 1/4" diameter sharpening area. The EZE-LAP Fine 600 grit can handle 98 percent of sharpening needs, with sufficient abrasive ability to hone a dull knife, or put a fast razor sharp finish on an edge. The round shaft stores inside the brass handle, and a belt pouch is included with this EZE-LAP Knife Sharpener.

EZE-LAP has a patented heat treatment process that bonds the highest quality industrial grade diamond particles in a stainless alloy, to a metal substrate. This process creates a surface that measures around 72 on the Rockwell hardness scale; and results in a Diamond sharpener that will work on high tech blade steels, as well as tool steel, and most ceramic, carbide, and hardened materials.

Cuts fast when new 11/27/2022

I have the Model M EZE-LAP and when brand new the surface is more of a course grade which cuts quickly but leaves a somewhat ragged edge. Once it was used several times it has smoothed to a medium and sharpens quickly if used for touch-up which is what this tool is for. If you have a very dull edge best to stone it first then put a finish edge on with this. It would work on very dull blades but may take a couple years service off it. If and when this one wears out I will replace it with the same.

I first bought one of these in 1984, and after hard use needed to replace it. I was surprised the construction of the new tool is identical to the old one, and it was even less money than what I paid back then. Leather sheath is slightly different is all. This is a great pocket sharpener.

Knivesplus also has two other EZ-lap sharpeners, for serrated blades and one with a wider surface. These are great value for the money.

This is the second one of these I have bought. My first one lasted 20 years or more of regular use, at which point the diamond surface started wearing off. So I was delighted to find that they are still made. The new one is identical to the old. It's my favorite kitchen knife sharpener because it's so easy to use and in less than a minute I can touch up a good knife so that it's razor sharp.

I saw these years ago and was always impressed with how well they worked. So earlier this year I bought one for myself and love it. It does a great job of sharpening my knives and is handy! In fact, it is so handy I just bought 2 for stocking stuffers for my son and grandson.
