This LIN-1118-006 Large Inkosi Knife, designed by Chris Reeve and manufactured by Chris Reeve Knives, features a 3.6-inch Crucible MagnaCut stainless steel drop point blade, .14-inch thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 63-64. The blade has a special large hollow grind for strength, a tumbled finish, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, and dual titanium thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The glass blasted 6AL4V titanium handle, 4.8-inches closed, has natural canvas Micarta inlays, a sturdy pivot with large pivot screw and pin, oversized bronze phosphor washers to eliminate sideways blade play, and the innovative Reeve Ceramic Ball End Integral Lock that uses a ceramic ball as an interface for the lock bar to the blade tang for consistent solid lock up. (The ball also drops into a detent on the blade to ensure the blade does not open accidentally.) The handle has open frame construction, a lanyard post, and a removable pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Large Inkosi has an overall open length of 8.4-inches, and it weighs 4.96 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.
From Chris Reeve: The Inkosi pushes the characteristics of the Integral Lock®, blade strength, pivot and lock tolerances as well as overall ergonomics. A 97 RC ceramic ball runs interface between the Integral Lock® bar end and tang of the blade, preventing wear and ensuring accurate lock up for the knife's lifetime. Blending the benefits of a flat grind and hollow grind, the blade’s 20” hollow grind provides a thick stock and overall strength. Available with a drop point, insingo, or tanto blade in Large or Small. All models are available with a dedicated left or right-handed orientation.
