Each set is crafted from 6061-T6 aluminum and features our Aggressive Agent milling, providing that extra grip without being overbearing — a perfect balance of traction and comfort.
We’ve also added strategic jimping in four key areas to enhance control and hand placement — a functional improvement not found on the stock Smock scales. Our signature chamfers round out the profile for improved ergonomics and a refined feel in hand.
The total weight with these installed scales is 3.93 oz, compared to 3.74 oz for the stock setup — a minimal increase that delivers a noticeably more solid, balanced feel.
These scales are milled to accommodate the newer Spyderco Smock pivot screw, which features a larger diameter head. The original Smock models were produced with a smaller pivot head, and those older screws will not seat correctly in these scales. We are offering the new, larger pivot screws separately so owners of the early Smock versions can easily upgrade for full compatibility.
Assembly is straightforward — we recommend working one side at a time for easiest alignment. Be cautious of the second detent ball and spring during reassembly, as these small parts can be easily displaced.
