The illustrated Spyderco Knife Sharpener is the Ultra Fine Spyderco Bench Stone that features high alumina ceramic construction in an ultra fine grit for smoothing an already sharp blade to a hair shaving finished edge. This bench stone is flat, thin and ultra smooth for the professional finishing and sharpening of wide tools such as chisels, large blades, wood working equipment and more. A polymer storage case with non skid rubber feet is included with this Spyderco knife sharpener. The ultra fine grit Spyderco Bench Stone measures 2" wide by 8" long by .5" thick. Made in the USA.

Ultra fine bench stone 03/31/2016

This is a super hard very very fine bench stone. It has excellent feedback and produces a mirror edge. I have used it for probably 20+ hrs and it does not seem to have worn at all and this was on s30v, zdp189,cpm154 and d2. I don't know what the grit size is in microns but it acts like 2.0 or less. If it is really that fine then this is one hell of a good bargain. In any case I am extremely satisfied to say the least. If you are looking for a super fine stone You will love this one. I also have the medium bench stone and it is much the same only with a larger grit size. It acts like it is in the fine category. I just wish Spyderco would make one in the 500 to 600 grit range. With that addition you would have a complete set of ceramic stones that rival the very best available from Japan.

Great stone...takes plenty of material away, especially for an ultra fine stone. Rubber pads work great for preventing slippage while sharpening. Only negative in it sits too close to the surface when sharpening...would be nice if it set a little higher.
