Kershaw Knives: Kershaw Reverb Knife, KE-1220


The Kershaw Reverb Knife features a 2.5" modified drop point blade made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a two tone gray PVD and satin finish, a weight reducing scooped spine, and large machined recess for one hand opening. The slim profile handle, 3.25" closed, has a black G10 front scale with carbon fiber overlay and large pivot detailing, a steel back with frame lock, handy carabiner gate attachment, and a removable deep carry pocket clip mounted at the butt end. The Kershaw Reverb Knife has an overall open length of 6.1", and it weighs a mere 1.6 ounces.

I have a pretty large assortment of EDCs, and was intrigued by the design of this knife. What stands out for me is the difficulty opening and (particularly) closing it - both hands required, I can't see this getting much easier with extended use. It also has a pretty sharp, angular outline, which might lead to rapid pocket wear. The overall size of the knife is attractive to me, but I don't believe I'll carry this one very much; better suited to a glove compartment/junk drawer, I think.

Growing on me

Just thought I'd add a couple of thoughts, since I've owned this for a little while, now - my thumb and fingers have developed a knack for opening and closing the knife now, perhaps it's 'worn in' a bit, as well... I'm liking it much more than I did initially, and I've been carrying it at least once a week. Just telling it like it is, sometimes it takes a bit for me to bond with a carry knife.
