Columbia River Knife and Tool: CRKT Offbeat Knife, CR-7730
The CRKT Offbeat - a minimalist EDC gent's knife designed by Arkansas knifemaker and innovator Pat Crawford, features a 3.522" classic drop point blade made of 8Cr14MoV stainless steel, .109" thick, with a satin finish and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The super slim skeletonized stainless steel handle (perfect for engraving), 4.483" closed, has a brushed finish, the Crawford Lockback - a unique forward lockback that locks tighter into place the tighter that it is gripped, a lanyard hole, and a removable steel pocket clip mounted at the butt end. (To close the Offbeat, push up the spine near the pivot to disengage the lock.) The Offbeat Knife has an overall open length of 8.00", and it weighs 2.9 ounces.
From the CRKT website: ...The handle is made of stainless steel and features a long, slender cutout along the back with a solid thumb stud at its terminus. As the blade is deployed with its own ambidextrous thumb stud, the cutout slides around the butt end of the blade until it reaches a notch along the backside. Then, the cutout seats snugly into place, effectively locking the blade in the open position. In this position, the harder you grip the handles, the more secure it becomes....
