Columbia River Knife and Tool: CRKT Batum Knife, CR-5453


The CRKT Batum is an EDC tank, designed by Danish knifemaker Jesper Voxnaes, that features a 3.158" drop point blade made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, .187" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60, a satin finish and a thumb hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The handle, 4.772" closed, has a textured black G10 front scale, a stonewash finished stainless steel back, frame lock, backspacer with integral lanyard hole, and an end to end reversible pocket clip. The Batum Knife has an overall open length of 7.938", and it weighs 6.9 ounces. Made in China.

I am blown away by the new CRKT Batum folder! It's definitely a Voxnaes design and I'm a huge fan of his. For a beefy pocket folder this thing is stout. It's incredibly well balanced and built for duty. I like the drop point and the thickness of the blade especially. I have "Flintstone" fingers and was worried about the forward choil but when it got here I was pleasantly surprised that it works just fine. I can't believe the price of this knife either? If you have any doubts about buying one I can tell you it's worth every penny! 5 Stars CRKT and well done on this one!

I'm a fan of heavy duty knives whether it be a fixed blade or a folder and the CRKT Batum 5453 is no slouch! If you are a fan of all things Voxnaes designs you'll love this knife. Very well made and balanced very well with a nice thick blade steel. The frame lock is solid and easy for one hand deployment. 5 Stars all the way! Thanks to KP for a GREAT price as well!

This knife is a beast! The blade is thick and has a great feel. Awesome quality for the price. CRKT hit a home run pairing up with Voxnaes Designs! Comes in two size this one maybe a little big for some folks.
