Buck Knives: Buck Brahma Knife, BU-119BRS1

The illustrated Buck Knife is the Avid Level Buck Brahma Knife that features a 6" clip point fixed blade made of 420HC stainless steel, .175" thick. The blade of this Buck Knife has a non reflective black finish and a fuller. The stacked leather handle has Micarta spacers, a palm swell and metal guard for secure grip, and a metal pommel with lanyard hole. A MOLLE compatible leather and nylon sheath is included with this Buck Knife. The Buck Brahma Knife has an overall length of 10 1/2", and it weighs 9.3 ounces. Proudly made in the USA.

This is a very functional modification to the original Buck design and the 420HC steel was shaving sharp out of the box. The stacked leather handle felt great and was surprisingly well proportioned for my medium sized hand even though it looked big in the pictures to me. The pommel and guard are well designed with holes to allow the knife to be attached to a pole if needed. The sheath is also smartly designed allowing attachments and is secure. The 90 degree edges on the top of the knife blade worked very well for making sparks with a ferrous rod. The flat black metal finish looks good and does not drag or provide resistance when you cut wood like painted finishes often do. From bush craft to deer camp, it is a very versatile knife with a classic look.

Very comfortable in the hand but a drop point blade would be more attractive and for me,more functional
