Benchmade Knives: Benchmade Barrage Knife, Tanto, BM-583

The illustrated Benchmade Knife is the Benchmade Barrage Knife, designed by custom knifemaker Warren Osborne, that features a 3.60" tanto blade made of 154CM stainless steel, .121" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-61. The blade of this Benchmade knife has a natural stainless finish, spring assist and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured black Valox handle, 4.75" closed, has grooves and notches for secure grip, 420J stainless steel liners for strength and the ambidextrous AXIS Assist locking mechanism. A side to side reversible bright split arrow pocket clip is mounted at the butt end of this Benchmade knife. The Benchmade Barrage Knife with plain edge tanto blade has an overall open length of 8.35", and it weighs 4.20 ounces. Made in the USA.

Great Merchant-not a hint of any problem; prompt delivery in safe boxed OEM packaging. Knife a bit heavy from a personal standpoint-best EDC would be mid-upper blue collar clothing. Arrived sharp but easily improved and easy to maintain. Made short work of an afternoon apple. Solid opening and lock-up with a distinctive 'click'. Some practice to achieve one handed closure. A serious looking, nicely crafted assisted opening folder. Sale price seems appropriate and comparable to others at same price point. Although there is a certain 'hollow' sound when tapping the scales everything looks and feels very solid. I've become a fan of Benchmade knives-this is as good as a starting point as it is as an addition to a brand or style collection. On my short list for gift giving. Spend a moment to understand your needs as this also comes in a smooth drop point blade-I've got both and they feel good in the hand or the pocket.
