10 star blade, 0 star sheath05/12/2015 ByJohn This weapon, is absolutely as beautiful as it is dangerous. Good heft, scary sharp, and well balanced. But the abomination of a sheath that crkt has produced for this short sword, is god awful. No reason at all for such a fine blade to be housed in such a poorly conceived sheath. It won't keep the blade from falling out if you're attempting to run with it attached to your person, it doesn't secure the blade enough for simple maneuvers such as low crawling, or battle rolling. It's a travesty for crkt to make its customers pay such a hefty price tag, only to have those customers be forced to either buy a custom made kydex sheath, or to make one themselves. Rating for the sword itself, an absolute masterpiece. Rating for the sword with the included sheath? A very very low two stars. It's actually a lot closer to 1.63 stars after sheath issues are tabulated in the overall standings.
