Best AWT scales yet02/12/2025 ByRob T This is my third set of anodized aluminum AWT scales and they're simply fantastic. Points of comparison are the Manix 2 LW and Hogue Deka scales, both in sniper grey (type III ano). Both have a dry matte feeling to the finish. The sage by comparison is more polished which gives it more grip, but without being glossy or flashy. Milling spacing is the same as Manix but deeper, adding to the grippiness. The flats of the scales are slightly rounded and the edges beveled which makes it super comfortable in hand. Color is a perfect dark blue. I have about two dozen pocket folders, 16 of which are Spyderco. Overall, these scales make the Sage 5 one of my absolute favorites in my collection.
