The main factor is probably that this model is made by LionSteel rather than Viper. Viper makes a decent enough knife, but LionSteel is really a step above the other Maniago makers, and it shows here. Tolerances are tight, the details are very well done, the steel liners are skeletonized for lightening, and it has multi-row bearings (though they are still steel and not ceramic). I love the blue micarta, and the diamond plate texture adds visual interest and grip without being too abrasive. This is a very good knife and I hope that GM works with LionSteel on more future projects.
