Great knife09/30/2016 ByHammond Beanz After my Buck Special sheath knife grew legs and disappeared, I searched all over Houghton-Hancock, Mi for a replacement. None being found, I purchased a Buck Pathfinder which appeared to be a less robust design then the Special. This was in July 1968 at Portage Lifeboat Sta. USCG. Later that summer the Pathfinder saved my life and the lives of two crew members of CG Cutter 36505. My 105 has been on every fishing/hunting trip, military deployment, and camping trip since then. The sheath is starting to show a little wear, but then....so am I. My grand kids are going to get a lot of use from this fine Buck knife. How did it save our lives? I cut a 3/8ths inch braided wire cable with it!! Didn't have any other tools on board to do the job. So much for not being robust enough for the job!
