This is the perfect EDC in terms of size and steel to handle everything from cutting rope to slicing meat. K390 has great edge retention while being relatively easy to sharpen. Over time it gets a nice patina that looks great. It is super lightweight to boot, so it goes in my pack for hiking/camping as well.

Although the FRN handle is not my favorite in terms of feel in the hand, it grips well with gloves and the weight tradeoff is a worthwhile compromise.

These have been hard to find since Spyderco moved the K390 to the Stretch XL in 2025, which is a bit large for my needs. Overall a really great knife, the price was fair, it arrived on time with factory oil protecting the blade. Highly recommended.

Saw many reviews that could be the only knife you need to own and doubted it until pulling the trigger on this one.

Pros: k390, comfortable in hand, slicey, grippy

Cons: rides high in the pocket (had to swap for a deep carry clip)

I love Spyderco knives,
I was super excited to purchase this knife, but honestly I'm disappointed.
The blade is a little sloppy when opened and when I tighten the screw to make it more solid you can't open the knife.
None of my other Spyderco knives are like this.
