Old Timer Knives: Senior Stockman Old Timer Knife, SC-8OT

In March of 2018 I wanted a cheaper price knife that I could use as a everyday work knife without taking a chance on losing my more expensive Boker pocket knife. So I bought the old timer 8OT senior stockman and now a year later it is holding up very well and stays sharp. I even use it at my camper constantly all the time for just about everything that I do. I have now owned it and carried it for a year now and it’s a very well built knife. Even though the newer series old timer knives are now made in China and have been since 2004 they are very good built knives they are made from a Chinese 7CR17 stainless steel and it does not take long to get it back to being sharp at all. I also own two old timer hunting knives a 152 OT and the 158OT and they have been very great knives also. I would definitely buy the old timer 8OT knife again especially if I lost this one.

BACK IN MARCH 2018 I WENT TO MY LOCAL APEX TRU VALUE HARDWARE STORE AND PURCHASED A SCHRADE OLD TIMER 8OT SENIOR STOCKMAN
TO USE AS A WORK KNIFE SO I WOULD NOT RUIN MY EXPENSIVE CASE KNIFE . IVE CARRIED THIS KNIFE EVERYDAY AS A WORK KNIFE AND THE 7CR17 HIGH CARBON STAINLESS STEEL BLADES SHARPEN PRETTY EASY AND HOLD A EDGE GOOD

I bought this knife to replace an Old Timer that I have had for almost 30 years. It is the same model number as my old one. The big difference is my old one was made in the good 'ol USA and the new one is made in China. To be honest you can see a huge difference in quality. The weight of the new knife is considerably less and the metal blades are not as high a quality. Overall it is still a good knife for the price so I would give it 3 1/2 to 4 stars out of 5.

This stockman is just a good all around knife. Not to big and not to small. I still carry a stockman that is just a bit bigger, but if it ever gives up the ghost, this would make a good replacement.

Purchased 2 Old Timers for grandchildren and one for me. Prices were the lowest I found. Shipments were immediate. Knives were exactly as I expected. Will buy from Knives Plus again and wholeheartedly recommend them.
