Becker Knife and Tool: Becker Combat Bowie Knife, BKT-9
Great tool08/16/2021 ByJesse Schmidt Love this knife!!! Good size, and well made. Definitely not a hollow grind though, it is a Saber grind!!!
Amazing 06/24/2020 ByShelly Carr Lives up to the hype, and feels effortless when in use. Only problem Is the sheath....it sucks. However I could not be happier with this knife purchase, it’s making me streamline my large blade collection.
The One08/11/2018 Bywinstonthepatriot If you carry only one knife into hard country.... this or the Cold Steel TrailMaster 0-1 would be the one.
What I was looking for10/30/2017 ByFishbite I thought the BKT-9 was what I was looking for, but after using it a few times I now know it was what I was looking for! I use it for bushcraft things like clearing an area for my hammock, or preparing wood for a big fire or for my little gassifier wood stove. I already changed out the scales, but some grip tape would have just worked fine and may not be needed but I wanted to be as safe as possible. Personally I would always wear a tough jacket with sleeves and tough gloves when using this knife. With a little loop of paracord this knife seems to be an extension of my hand. I am looking forward to years of use from it! Also, Knives Plus has excellent customer service and it was delivered on time. Great people to do business with!
Excellent GP03/29/2017 ByDavid I have used the BK-9 for about two years now for everything---as a brush chopper, to dig with and skin locust posts. The point is broad and digs well. I have planted wild gardens with it, breaking hard soil to deposit seeds. I have dug basins in creek beds so that I could fill my canteens. You can lever out rocks and hard clay with little damage to the blade. This is one tough knife, meant to be used hard. It is safe to use---little chance of your hand slipping onto the blade. The handle design prevents forward momentum. I slipped a bike innertube on the handle for extra traction. I use a small mill file to get the edge down to a uniform bevel, then a medium and fine DMT whetstone to finish. This is the one drawback. 1095 Cro Van is very hard steel, and you have to work to get it sharp.
You can't go wrong with a BK-9. It is a good union between the performance of a machete, and a knife.
