I've had one of these for 20 years03/30/2021 ByJimmie I still sharpen knives on it although it is more like 600 grit in the middle, but I make knives out of D2 and I finish my bevels on my EZE-LAP. D2 has Vanadium in it that makes very hard carbides and when heat treated right it is hard to sharpen, but not with diamond. I actually had to glue it back to the wood once as I left it wet by the sink, but it went right back on using epoxy glue.
