Solid Knife12/03/2024 ByBrickForBrains The AWT scales are a comfortable upgrade for what is otherwise a functional work knife. I added an MXG gear clip (deep carry) and would recommend them or Lynch Northwest as a nice way to get the knife further into your pocket.
Knives Plus warned that some movement might occur between the pins and scales, but my model locks up tight like a bank vault when open or closed.
AWT Native 5 - Excellent EDC01/10/2024 ByDon Michael The knife came extremely sharp as expected from Knives Plus. The function is solid however a little on the slower side do to the locking mechanism (lockbacks are not going to equate to a lightning fast deployment). When the blade locks into place it feels like a bank vault locking. The AWT scales really take this folder to the next level in the way it fills the hand, craftsmanship is second to none. This is my first Native 5 and I am having a hard time reaching for any other pocket knife, the magnacut and AWT scales really make this blade punch above its price point. The only negative/consideration I can think of is that the solid feel and great ergos of the AWT scales comes at the cost of added weight, so if you were getting the Native 5 as an ultra light knife to put in your shorts as you go for a hike its not really going to be your best option. Please note you get the best of both worlds since the knife ships with the original lightweight FRN scales.
ON POINT!11/27/2023 ByBrett I can't praise the KP crew enough for their work on this custom Magnacut Native 5 LW. Just perfect fit and finish, incredible action and lockup, and man did this thing come sharp! The AWT scales feel absolutely amazing in hand, as well, with the milling providing a bit of traction on the otherwise smooth handle. I threw on a polished Lynch clip to match the blade and this is now one of my favorite EDC's. Another great purchase from KP!
