XIKAR Knives-It all started in 1994 with a quest for a good cigar cutter: he couldn't find one, so he made one. Kurt Van Keppel and Scott Almsberger designed the Xi Cutter cigar cutter in 1996, assembled the prototypes in Kurt's garage in 1997, and made the first mass production run in 1998. In 2002, XIKAR added slim, lightweight gentlemen's knives to the product line; and in 2003, the Extreme line of high tech folding knives.The Extreme Knife, from XIKAR Knives, is a sleek high tech knife. It features a 3.12" blade made of Z60CDV14 stainless steel that is .12" thick, with dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening, a top swedge, and a slightly angled tip for added strength. The handle, 4.25" closed, is made of color anodized aluminum with choice of several inlays; and includes titanium liner, titanium liner lock, discrete carry pocket clip, and convenient lanyard hole. The overall open length is 7.37", and the weight is 3.5 ounces. The Extreme XIKAR knife is available with Cocobolo, Amboina Burl, or G10 inlays.
Illustrated knife features a silver anodized handle with Amboina Burl inlays, and a part serrated blade.
