XIKAR Knives: XIKAR Gentlemen's Knives, Cigar Cutters, and Folding Multi-Tools.XIKAR Knives-It all started in 1994 with a quest for a good cigar cutter: he couldn't find one, so he made one. Kurt Van Keppel and Scott Almsberger designed the Xi Cutter cigar cutter in 1996, assembled the prototypes in Kurt's garage in 1997, and made the first mass production run in 1998. In 2002, XIKAR added slim, lightweight gentlemen's knives to the product line; and in 2003, the Extreme line of high tech folding knives.The Cigar Cutter that started it all is an ingenious design. The Xi Cigar Cutter is handy, simple to operate and safe. An ergonomic spring-loaded body houses the stainless steel blades. Use the button release to pop it open, insert the cigar, and squeeze/snap it closed. The blades cuts cigars neatly and efficiently (up to a 52 ring gauge), and the unit locks shut after use. The XIKAR Cigar Multi-Tools fold into a compact triangle, and fit right onto your key ring. The XIKAR Knife line started out with gentlemen's knives such as the popular Elan framelock pocket knife, the Excel Knife and Excursion Knife (both with linerlock and pocket clip). In 2003, XIKAR added the Extreme Knife to the line-up. The Extreme Knife is a high tech folder with a titanium linerlock, that is available in a variety of configurations. |
