XIKAR Knives-It all started in 1994 with a quest for a good cigar cutter: he couldn't find one, so he made one. Kurt Van Keppel and Scott Almsberger designed the Xi Cutter cigar cutter in 1996, assembled the prototypes in Kurt's garage in 1997, and made the first mass production run in 1998. In 2002, XIKAR added slim, lightweight gentlemen's knives to the product line; and in 2003, the Extreme line of high tech folding knives.
The XIKAR Express Carabiner Knife features a 2" blade made of 440A stainless steel with a black coat and oval hole for one hand opening. The skeletonized stainless steel handle with black coat, 3" closed, has a frame lock and integral carabiner at the butt end. A removable pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end. The XIKAR Express Carabiner Knife is 5" overall, and weighs 1.7 ounces.
