XIKAR Knives: XIKAR Explorer Knife, Gunmetal Gray Handle, XI-780T
The illustrated XIKAR Explorer Knife features a 2.9" drop point blade made of 440A stainless steel. The blade has a non reflective matte finish, notched thumb rest, and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The gunmetal gray anodized 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum handle, 4.1" closed, has a liner lock and a lined lanyard hole. A removable stainless steel pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end. The XIKAR Explorer Knife has an overall length of 7" when open, and weighs 3 ounces.
XIKAR Knives-It all started in 1994 with a quest for a good cigar cutter: he couldn't find one, so he made one. Kurt Van Keppel and Scott Almsberger designed the Xi Cutter cigar cutter in 1996, assembled the prototypes in Kurt's garage in 1997, and made the first mass production run in 1998. In 2002, XIKAR added slim, lightweight gentlemen's knives to the product line; and in 2003, the Extreme line of high tech folding knives.
