The illustrated XIKAR Knife is the XIKAR Excel Knife that features a 2.2" drop point blade made of Z60CDV14 stainless steel, .07" thick. The blade on this XIKAR knife has dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured silver anodized 6061T6 aircraft aluminum handle, 3.22" closed, has a Snakewood onlay and liner lock. A removable stainless steel pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end of this XIKAR knife. The XIKAR Excel Knife has an overall length of 5.43" when open, and weighs 1.3 ounces.
XIKAR Knives-It all started in 1994 with a quest for a good cigar cutter. Kurt Van Keppel and Scott Almsberger designed the Xi Cutter cigar cutter in 1996, assembled the prototypes in Kurt's garage in 1997, and made the first mass production run in 1998. In 2002, XIKAR added slim, lightweight gentlemen's knives to the product line; and in 2003, the Extreme line of high tech folding knives.
