The WRC William Russell Case Knife Series pays tribute to William Russell Case. William Russell Case was the father of the company's founder, the company namesake and the first company president. Simply put, William Russell Case was one of the pioneers of American cutlery. On the 160th anniversay of his birth, Case honors W. R. Case with a family of knives featuring the master blade tech printed with his image, exclusive WRC coat of arms shield, and W. R. Case tang stamp.

The Case family is an American cutlery dynasty. Getting their start in the knife business in upstate New York in the 1880s, they would own and operate more than a dozen firms. Case Brothers was the first to carry the family name. In that factory, the practice of twice tempering and testing Case knife blades was begun, and thus was born the famous Tested XX trademark.

Of all the Case family knife companies, it was the business started by Russ Case, with help from his father William Russell Case, that would grow to dominate. That would, of course, be W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company.
