Swiss Army KnivesSwiss Army Knives have always been associated with two major manufacturers located in Switzerland, Victorinox and Wenger. Victorinox has always been the most popular and best seller of traditional Swiss Army Knives in the USA and across the world. Swiss Army Knives are a perennial favorite with the Boy Scout, camper, military, and handyman. Gary Powers, pilot of a U2 spy plane that was shot down over the old USSR in 1960, was carrying a Swiss Army knife. The Russian press called it "spy equipment". US astronauts have carried Swiss Army Knives into space and I have one in my pocket right now (Victorinox Money Clip).
Swiss Army Knives were consolidated when in 2005 Victorinox purchased Wenger. Now Wenger and Victorinox are owned by Victorinox. Victorinox had just celebrated it's 100th year anniversay in 1997.
Of all of the knives that we have sold, Swiss Army Knives consistantly have the greatest quality control of any knife that we have carried in our retail store. They have more blades and tools and possibilities for problems, but they consistantly have quality of fit and function.
