The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Limited Spyderco R Knife that features a 3.45" modified drop point blade made of VG10 stainless steel. The blade of this Spyderco knife has a notched choil and thumb ramp for secure grip, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The Nishijin Glass Fiber handle, 4.65" closed, has a Boye Dent lockback and a lined lanyard hole. A side to side and end to end reversible steel pocket clip is included with this Spyderco Knife. The Spyderco R Knife with Nishijin Glass Fiber handle has an overall length of 8.07" and it weighs 4.2 ounces. Limited quantities.
From the Spyderco website regarding the handle of the Limited R Knife: The handle is Japanese Nishijin glass fiber. The name Nishijin references a specific weave pattern, used in the production of silk Kimono cloth. It is manufactured by weaving glass fibers (thinner than a human hair), together in a geometric pattern and then impregnating the fibers into polymer base. The outcome is a lightweight, ultra-strong handle material that has an attractive three dimension appearance.
