The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Matriarch 2 Knife that features a 3.55" reverse S blade made of VG10 stainless steel. The blade of this Spyderco knife has a hollow grind and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The Black FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle, 5" closed, has Bi-Directional texturing for maximum grip, a Boye dent lockback, and a lanyard hole. A side to side and end to end reversible black steel pocket clip is included with this Spyderco knife. The Spyderco Matriarch 2 Knife with Black handle has an overall open length of 8.39", and it weighs 3.5 ounces. Made in Japan.
From the Spyderco website regarding the blade shape: What makes the design unique is its reverse "S" shaped blade that is highly effective when cutting, using just the tip, or when using a full arm motion. The curvature of the blade sweeps into fine tip that passes easily through material much like a cat's claw but with the added ferocity of serrations.
