The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Khukuri Knife, designed by Ed Schempp, that features a 3 7/16" khukuri blade made of VG10 stainless steel. The blade of this Spyderco knife has a Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The foliage green G10 handle, 4 3/8" closed, has full length stainless steel liners, Michael Walker Liner Lock and a lanyard hole. A side to side reversible metal pocket clip is mounted at the butt end of this Spyderco knife. The Spyderco Khukuri Knife has an overall open length of 7 11/16" and weighs 3.4 ounces.
From the Spyderco Product Guide: Khukuris (also referred to as Kukri or Khurkuri Gurkha) are the national knife of Nepal and commonly found in Nepalese households and carried by military personnel. The prominent curved blade has a deep drop-point belly with imposing cutting power. Historically, the curve is synonymous with the valor of the solider carrying it.
