The illustrated SOG Knife is the SOG Twitch XL Tanto Knife that features a 3.2" tanto blade made of AUS8 stainless steel, .125" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 57-58. The blade of this SOG knife has a satin polish finish, a notched thumb rest, an extended blade kick, the S.A.T. assist, and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The graphite color hard anodized aluminum handle, 4.175" closed, has a lockback, dual liners, and a lanyard hole. A blade safety, located below the lockback, is available to lock the blade in the closed position and serves as an extra lock when the blade is open. A side to side reversible low carry pocket clip is mounted at the butt end of this SOG knife. The SOG Twitch XL Tanto Knife has an overall length of 7.375" when open, and weighs 4.4 ounces.
The SOG Twitch Knives feature the S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) opening mechanism. Unlike an automatic knife, which is activated by a button mounted on the handle, the SOG S.A.T. opening mechanism only works when the operator manually begins to open the blade. With just a nudge of a thumb stud or blade kick, the S.A.T. takes over to propel the blade to the open position.
