The SOG Twitch Knives feature the S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) opening mechanism. Unlike an automatic knife, which is activated by a button mounted on the handle, the SOG S.A.T. opening mechanism only works when the operator manually begins to open the blade. With just a nudge of a thumb stud or blade kick, the S.A.T. takes over to propel the blade to the open position.
The SOG Twitch I Black Tie Knife was designed by Spencer Frazier. It features a 2" drop point blade made of AUS8 stainless steel, .100" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 57-58. The blade has a black Titanium Nitride coat, an extended blade kick, the S.A.T. assist, and dual gold Titanium Nitride coated thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The extended kick also functions as an integral finger guard when the blade is open. The black anodized T6 aluminum handle, 2.75" closed, has gold Titanium Nitride coated accents, a lock back, dual liners, and a lanyard hole. A blade safety, located below the lock back, is available to lock the blade in the closed position and serves as an extra lock when the blade is open. There is a skeletonized pocket/money clip, with gold Titanium Nitride coat, mounted at the butt end. The SOG Twitch I Black Tie Knife is 4.75" overall when open, and weighs 2 ounces.
