The illustrated SOG Knife is the SOG Twitch XL Knife that features a 3.25" drop point blade made of AUS8 stainless steel, .125" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 57-58. The blade on this SOG knife has a non reflective black Titanium Nitride coat, an extended blade kick, the S.A.T. assist, and dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening. The extended kick also functions as an integral finger guard when the blade is open. The black anodized T6 aluminum handle, 4.25" closed, has a lockback, dual liners, and a lanyard hole. A blade safety, located below the lockback, is available to lock the blade in the closed position and serves as an extra lock when the blade is open. A side to side reversible pocket/money clip is mounted at the butt end of this SOG knife. The SOG Twitch XL Knife is 7.5" overall when open, and weighs 4.2 ounces.
The SOG Twitch Knives feature the S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) opening mechanism. Unlike an automatic knife, which is activated by a button mounted on the handle, the SOG S.A.T. opening mechanism only works when the operator manually begins to open the blade. With just a nudge of a thumb stud or blade kick, the S.A.T. takes over to propel the blade to the open position.
