The illustrated SOG Knife is the SOG Trident Folder Knife that features a 3.75" part serrated clip point blade made of AUS8 stainless steel, .125" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 57-58. The blade on this SOG knife has a Desert Camo coating, notched thumb ramp for secure grip, dual thumb studs, and S.A.T. assist for ambidextrous one hand opening. The Desert Camo Digi-Grip Zytel handle, 4.875" closed, has the SOG Arc-Actuator lock, blade safety, cord cutter groove, and lanyard hole. The side to side reversible discrete carry pocket clip is mounted at the butt end of this SOG knife. The SOG Desert Camo Trident Folder Knife has an overall length of 8.5" when open, and weighs 4.5 ounces.
The SOG Trident Folder Knives feature the S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) opening mechanism. Unlike an automatic knife, which is activated by a button mounted on the handle, the SOG S.A.T. opening mechanism only works when the operator manually begins to open the blade. With just a nudge of a thumb stud, the S.A.T. takes over to propel the blade to the open position.
