SOG Flash Knives feature the S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) opening mechanism. Unlike an automatic knife, which is activated by a button mounted on the handle, the SOG Flash S.A.T. opening mechanism only works when the operator manually begins to open the blade. With just a nudge of a thumb stud, the S.A.T. takes over to propel the blade to the open position.The SOG Knife Camo Zytel Flash II has a 3.5" blade, .125" thick, made of AUS8 (Rc. 57-58) stainless steel, with dual thumb studs for ambidextrous one hand opening, and the aforementioned S.A.T. opening mechanism. The lightweight camouflage Zytel handle is 4.5" closed, and features a slide release bolt-action lock, an additional safety lock for secure carry when the blade is closed (switch showing red = ready to open), and a front to back reversible "bayonet mounted" discrete carry pocket clip, mounted at the butt end. The SOG Camo Zytel Flash II is 8" overall when open, weighs 3 ounces, and is available with a plain edge blade, part serrated blade, and part serrated blade with a black TiNi coat.
The illustrated knife has the part serrated blade with black Titanium Nitride coat.
