The illustrated Smith's Knife Sharpener is the Smith's Diamond Sharpening Steel that features a 10" long oval diamond coated steel sharpening surface with unique overlapping hole pattern. The handle of this Smith's Knife Sharpener has an oversized integral hand guard, a Soft Grip rubber non slip handle, and a metal hanging ring. The 10" Oval Smith's Diamond Sharpening Steel has an overall length of 15".
The interrupted surface of the Smith's Diamond Sharpening Steel is the ultimate in sharpening technology. The sharpening surface has an overlapping oval hole design which is coated with multiple layers of micron sized Monocrystalline diamonds. This design helps speed the sharpening process by collecting the metal filings which normally build up during sharpening.
Please note: the initial aggressive cutting speed of diamond sharpening stones slows with use; at the same time, the abrasive finish of diamond sharpening stones improves with use. This process is normal and should be expected.
